\Longrightarrow{\boxed{\bold{Answer: MgO }}}

\textbf{\underline{Step-by-step explanation :- }}

➣ Element of atomic number 12 = Mg ( Magnesium )

➣ Element of atomic number 8 = O ( Oxygen )

➣ So, when they react together

➣ We must remember their valence.

➣ Valency of Mg = + 2

➣ Valency of O = - 2

( ✪ How to get valency? Please see image. ✪ )

✍️ ✍️ ✍️ ✍️ ✍️ ✍️ ✍️ ✍️ ✍️

So,  Mg^{+2} + O^{-2}  Mg_2 O_2 ➜ MgO

[ ✪ Here, + 2 and - 2 valencies cancelled out ✪ ]

\textbf{\underline{Hence resultant is MgO.}}

\boxed{\bold{\underline{\red{MgO= Magnesium\:Oxide}}}}
