A is sodium , B is magnesium .

sodium is weak, highly reactive , lustrous , valency:2 +

whereas magnesium is strong , less reactive than sodium , lustrous , valency : 2+

Z is oxygen

when sodium react with oxygen it forms sodium oxide

2Na + O2--> Na2O

when magnesium reacts with Mg it forms magnesium oxide

Mg+O2--> MgO
