Atomic radius of potassium(K) is 231 pm and that of caesium(Cs) is 262. Which which atom will be having down position in the group?​

The answer is Cs because as you go down the period the atomic number increases so does the number of electrons in it so as you go down the period there is more number of electrons that needed to be accommodated so more and more number of shells get added to accommodate the electrons and when you move across the period the atomic number increases but the number of shells does not this is because of the property of atoms to form an octet structure So even if the electrons increases there The concentration of more protons in the nucleus creates a "higher effective nuclear charge."  In other words, there is a stronger force of attraction pulling the electrons closer to the nucleus resulting in a smaller atomic radius.
