The period in the periodic table, atomic size decreases up to halogens but increases in noble gases.

Hii.....
As we all know that on moving from left to right acros a period or from one group to another in a period atomic size decreases due to increase in nuclear charge but GROUP 18 i.e.,noble gases have the more atomic radius than group 17 beacuse of their stable electronic configuration. ..thus the attraction of nucleus towards the outermoat shell cannot be seen in case of noble gases thus they have a high atomic size than group 17.
