Atomic size: The term atomic size refers to the radius of an atom. The
atomic size may be visualised as the distance between the centre of the
nucleus and the outermost shell of an isolated atom.

What is an isolated atom ?

The shell just inner to the outermost shell is called pen ultimate shell. So , the above defination gets wrong for atomic size.

An isolated atom is a single atom all by itself. Usually, this is an excited state as most atoms form bonds.
