There is a difference in.every element only by the number of electrons and protons.
Mass increases since every next element have additional electron and protons, since electron and proton have mass there is always a change in mass in every other element.
Chemical properties change due difference in the attractive force between the neutron and the outer electrons. Moreover there is a difference due to their bonding with other element.Futher presence of different orbitals complicates each element seperately.
Electronegetivity, ionisation enthalpy, electron gain enthalpy ,hydration enthalpy have a major role to play in the difference of chemical nature of every element
