Your question need to be specific or atleast not vague.
See, we can see anything from multiple perspectives. When you say "Atrocities against animals" and then "religious", "political"..., you are seeing the pain of animals from other aspects as well.
If there be atrocities to you, you would only say- I am in pain or he/she harmed me. And, not that my pain has a social angle.
I don't intend against your question but urge you to see "atrocities" as complete and acc to the subjective experience of the sufferer. What we lack is inclusiveness.

If you could experience the animals as yourself there wouldn't be so many issues.
