Answer:

Case (I) :

  • Speed = 35 km/hr
  • Time = 120 min = 2 hr
  • Distance = Speed × Time = 35 × 2 = 70 km

Case (II)

  • Speed = 48 km/hr
  • Time = 90 min = 1.5 hr
  • Distance = Speed × Time = 48 × 1.5 = 72 km

➝ Total Distance = 70 + 72

➝ Total Distance = 142 km

\underline{\boldsymbol{According\: to \:the\: Question\:now :}}

\sf => Average \:   Speed = \dfrac{Total  \: Distance}{Total  \: Time  \: taken} \\  \\  \\

\sf => Average  \: Speed = \dfrac{142}{2 + 1.5} \\  \\

\sf => Average  \: Speed = \dfrac{142}{3.5} \\  \\

=> \underline{ \boxed{ \sf Average  \: Speed = 40.57 \:km/hr }} \\  \\

Therefore, Average Speed over entire journey is 40.57 km/hr.
