Explanation:

think that Gellert Grindelwald was born in 1883 in Hungary, from two Pureblood magical parents (as his Acolytes are Pureblood, and he knows perfectly well their ways of seeing muggles, I think he really is a Pureblood himself) one Hungarian and the other Austrian/German. Maybe he even lived with his grandparents or other relatives, as in those times, families were numerous and it was rare for a child to be raised just by the parents. They were loving, encouraged him to do magic and used to tell him that it was a special gift (thus his phrase “magic blooms only in rare souls) a gift that non magical people couldn't understand and so they feared it. Plus Gellert was a Seer, and it is possible that one of his parents or grandparents was one as well! Another reason to make him feel special and proud of being one himself! Maybe the family allowed him to cause a bit of mischief (Gellert had a sense of humor, after all, always laughing and having a merry-wild face!).

Explanation:

Gellert Grindelwald (c. 1883 – March 1998) was a wizard who is considered to be among the most powerful and dangerous Dark Wizards of all time, second only to Lord Voldemort.[8] He was amongst the greatest wizards to have ever lived, often considered to be the third most powerful wizard in history, his only superiors being Tom Riddle and Albus Dubledore. A student at Durmstrang Institute, Grindelwald was expelled for twisted, dark experiments and near-fatal attacks on students.
