Living beings are classified on the basis of molecular and growth-related movements (also known as visible and invisible movements) for their development. They can perform activities, functions etc. on their own independently or sometimes, dependant on other living things.
Non-living things on the other hand, can only be utilised as a resource for obtaining a better product either used for the development for other living organisms example (Plants store starch in leaves) or for the development of those who make them (pebbles used for beautification purposes).
