Ans. In this sonnet “Composed Upon Westminster Bridge “ William

Wordsworth provides a vivid description of the meaning beauty of the

city of London that he witnessed while crossing the Westminster

Bridge in the early morning . Though Wordsworth often wrote about

nature , in this poem he exerts his deep love and admiration for the

city of London in the very first line of the poem , he states that there is

nothing more fair on earth then the sight of the city of London :

“ Earth has not anything to show more fair"

In the concluding tow lines of the poem , the poet personifies the

city of London . He gives left to whole city which has a symbol heart

the city heartbeats rapidly during the day , but in early morning its

lying still and the houses also seem to be asleep .

In view of above , it can be said that the poem “ Upon Westminster

Bridge “ depicts the morning beauty of London as is seen by the poet

for Westminster Bridge .
