Atul has a gift place in a cuboidal box of dimension I, b and h. He want to cover the box nicely to
present it to his friend on his birthday. Instead of using same colour paper, he decided to use
different colour on the opposite faces of the box. Derive the formula for its surface area

Step-by-step explanation:

according to the box it has 6 faces, which means he used 6 different colours

so the area can be represented by

l×h for the first face

l×h for its opposite face

b×h for the second face

b×h for its opposite face

l×b for the third face

l×b for its opposite face

Now we have,

l×h+l×h+b×h+b×h+l×b+l×b

=2(lh+bh+lb)
