Atul's father has given him money to buy some kiwis from the market at the
rate of q(x) = x2 + 2x per x kiwi. The total amount of money given by his
father is represented by p(x) = x4 + x3 - 16x2 - 4x + 48. The money is enough
to buy exact number of kiwis. a, b, y, 8 are the zeroes of p(x), where y and 8 are
common zeroes of p(x) and 7(x).
(i) Find the value of y and 8.
(a) 2,4
(b) -2,4
(c) 2,4
(d)-2,-4

Given : Atul's father has given him money to buy some kiwis from the market at the rate of q(x) = x² + 2x per x kiwi.
The total amount of money given by his father is represented by p(x) = x⁴ + x³ - 16x² - 4x + 48.
To Find : zeroes of p(x)
Solution:
rate of q(x) = x² + 2x per x kiwi.
=> rate per kiwi = ( x² + 2x )/x = x + 2
Money = x⁴ + x³ - 16x² - 4x + 48
rate = x + 2
number of kiwis = ( x⁴ + x³ - 16x² - 4x + 48)/(x + 2)
=> number of kiwis = x³ - x² - 14x + 24
x³ - x² - 14x + 24 = (x - 2) (x² + x - 12)
= (x - 2) (x + 4)(x - 3)
p(x) = x⁴ + x³ - 16x² - 4x + 48. = (x + 2) (x - 2) (x + 4)(x - 3)
