To answer this simply convert your fractions.

2/3 or 12/18 of the garden went to tomatoes.

1/9 or 2/18 of the garden went to brinjal.

12/18 + 2/18 = 14/18.

Atul has planted 14/18 of his garden, leaving 4/18 unplanted. If each small small plot will be 1/18 of the garden we can divide the remaining space by the small plot size. 4/18 ÷ 1/18 = 4/1,

4/1 = 4

Atul has room for 4 small plots.
