ANSWER:-

We get muscle cramps becoz when we workout our muscle cells respire anaerobically.

EXPLANATION:-

Cells respire in two ways i.e,aerobic respiration and anaerobic respiration.

What is aerobic respiration?

  • Aerobic respiration occurs in the presence of oxygen.
  • The breakdown of glucose occurs in this respiration.
  • The glucose is broken into carbon dioxide and water in the presence of oxygen and energy is released.

What is anaerobic respiration?

  • Anaerobic respiration occurs without the presence of oxygen.
  • The breakdown of glucose takes place without oxygen.
  • It produces lactic acid instead of carbon dioxide and water and that causes painful muscle cramps.
