If the exact same type of storm occurs in the Northwest Pacific, then that is typhoon. and if we find those same storms in the South Pacific and indian , these are called tropical cyclones....
Cyclones refers to any spinning storm that rotates around a low-pressure center is also refers to as the 'eye' of the storm, which is well known for being early calm compared with the areas under the spinning 'arms' of the storm. You could say that the eye is watching what's going on down below. So that needs are clear path, but the arms are where all the action happens because this is where the storm is throwing out all of it's rain and wind.
