Autobiography of a Coin
I am a Coin. I am made with Gold, Silver nickel Copper etc. There was a time when only paisa was used. But now only 2 rupees coin, 1 rupees coin and 5 rupees coins are used. Day by day I am becoming obsolete. Now only notes are used. After Barter system, I came into existence. At first I was made with gold then after that I was made by silver then by aluminum. Nowadays you can see that I am made by different metals. I am a gold coin made at the time of Royal Queen Victoria in 1892. I was made when India was ruled by British and you can see the coins are embalmed with picture of Victoria. You can see the face of Victoria and the year of manufacture are written on coins. Moving from one place to another I was gifted to a Royal princess by a Royal prince as a gift of his birthday. She kept me in an iron safe. There I found new companion - gold coin, silver coin, copper coins and gold and silver ornaments. It was all dark and protected by all sides. We talked to one another on how valuable we are. Like this I spent year after year in the iron safe. Now I am still staying with the Royal family in the iron safe. They take me out only in the Deepavali for Puja purpose. They take me in the prayer room and place in front of the Goddess. For this day only I felt very happy because I can see lots of lights and many other people. But the day after I am placed in the same place. It makes me very sad because I want to move one place to another and meet different types of people. When I was young I used to move from one place to another. I really enjoy seeing new people and new places. I cry with pain and always pray to God to get me out of their hands.
