In the year 2005 , I was manufactured along with millions of my friends. When we were ready to be used , we were kept in a store , waiting to be sold. I distinctly remember how we were neatly stacked in rows waiting for our fates to be sealed. The sound of footsteps outside the store would send our hearts pit a pat. Finally we were sold on a fine day when the Municipal Corporation bought us. I was enthusiastically waiting where would I be placed and soon the answer came. We all were placed in a humongous park , miles away from each other. I had become a huge attraction for poet , artists , writers , students and even for dacoits. Above all , I was a final resort for vagabonds. They rested upon me for several days and nights. Now with the vagaries of weather and the toxic smoke of the vehicles , my paint has also peeled off. I don’t even know if I would be repainted or not. I am here for about 12 years. Though made of lifeless materials , I have seen the world very closely. I have learnt that humans are of different kinds , some are kind while some are cruel , some are emotional while some are restraint. I have lost the company of my fellow benches but now camaraderie of humans. They have inspired me to have a long life and I have the desire to serve the sea of humanity forever.
