My name is peacock. I am a medium sized bird. The pheasant is my relative. I live in India. I am very beautiful. I spread my colourful tail of feathers like a fan and dance. People love to see me dance. They have also developed a dance which is called peacock dance. They collect my colourful feathers and use them in their art and craft projects. Lord Krishna used to wear my feather in his head band.

My life span is 20 years. I like to eat insects, plants, seeds, and flower heads. Sometimes I munch on small mammals and reptiles so that I get the proper nutrients. I am scared of wild dogs, cats, raccoons and tigers. They are my enemies.

I am have a long, shiny, dark blue neck and a crown on its head. It has beautiful, multicoloured feathers. When a peacock dances, it spreads its wings out like a fan. A dancing peacock presents a very beautiful sight
