I am rainbow sign of rain and fresh weather. I am made up of seven beautiful colors and I always appear when sunlight passes through rain drops in the clouds mostly at the time of afternoon to sunset. I am like a bow scattered in clouds and sometimes when there is enough light and water drops I change into two. Like my name rainbow I create freshness in minds. There have been named many novels, dramas and films after my name. All are happy to see me.

Autobiography of the Rainbow

Hello, I am Rainbow. I am a wonder for a common man. They, wonder where do I come from and go to? I am visible specially in rainy season. Though, I am one of the most beautiful phenomenon of the nature yet I am very simple to understand.

The droplets of water split the sunlight into seven colours. These colours from its bottom are: violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange, and red. To remember my colours just remember the word VIBGYOR. I am always visible in the direction opposite to the sun.

Whenever you happen to see me the next time, try to count these colours.
