Answer:
Hello, I am the road and today you will talk about my autobiography. I am something about what people have dreamed since the beginning of the time. I connect people all around the world.
I have many relatives all around the world which are called avenues, parkways, freeways, interstates, highways, tollways or local roads. We all have the same purpose – to make easier for people to come from one place to another. The idea about my construction existed since the ancient time. I am something that is necessary for people because I help them to find each other.
I was born in 1765 in England. My father was a Scottish engineer John Metcalf. My father was a simple man. He was a carrier. But he had big dreams. He saw an opportunity to became a road engineer when the English Parliament passed a law about turnpike trusts. He got a contract to build a road between Minskip and Ferrensby, which is the section of the road between Harrogate to Boroughbridge. That is how he created me. I was just five kilometers long. I had a good foundation, I was well drained and I had a convex structure. When people drive on me, they never had a problem with a rain. My foundation was a combination of rafts that were made from ling and furze. My foundation was unique at that time. My father was very proud of me. He created my other cousins in North England so they all looked like me. But I was always the most important to him.
Today, I am known as a “John Metcalf Way”. Through the centuries from the day I was born, a lot of corrections has been made on me. Today I am paved and much stronger. I stand proudly at the place where I was born and look at how the world is changing. I will never die. I am the beginning of the modern road.
