Answer:

A banyan, also spelled "banian", is a fig that begins its life as an epiphyte, i.e. a plant that grows on another plant, when its seed germinates in a crack or crevice of a host tree or edifice.

Hope it helps.

Answer:

I feel proud to be a tree. I am big, tall and old banyan tree. I was planted by a kind hearted and gentle man many years ago past the road. When I was just a small plant, he used to come to water every day. He talked to me and other trees around me.

Many years before, when I was a young plant, the environment was not such as. This road was a foot way. There was no any stall nearby me. Air was fresh, I was brought in a happy environment. As I grew old and thick, people come and rest under me for a while and leave. I feel nice when people at different time came under my shade at protect themselves from heat, sun, and rains. My life becomes interesting when I hear all sorts of conversation of the people who come.

It is wonderful feeling to be so loved and cared for and above all, being so honoured and respected. This is given to me as a section of theIndian society considered me a holy tree to be worshipped.

I had many friends around me to talk to, many other trees, who were cut down from time to time and now this field has been converted to a bus stop place by humans. In the field, we trees were of great help to humans like for giving fresh air to breathe, controlling moisture in the air holding the soil providing then without extracts of which they made medicine and so on. Looks like that these humans got greedy and cut down all my friends for their own purpose. Today, I stand alonebeside the road and cannot be of that much of help as I was with my friends together.

I hope it helps you
