Answer: Autotrophs can be divided into two words: Auto meaning self, and, trophs meaning feeders. Thus Autotrophs mean self feeders.
Heterotrophs can be divided into two words: Hetero meaning other, and, trophs meaning feeders. Thus, Heterotrophs mean other feeders. This means they depend for food from Autotrophs directly or indirectly.
