Autotrophs use energy from sunlight or inorganic compounds to convert inorganic carbon dioxide into organic compounds that have energy such as proteins, fats and carbohydrates which is used up by both the autotrophs themselves and the heterotrophs, that cannot produce their own food, as source of energy.

Answer:

autotrophs such as green plants, blue green algae and photosynthetic bacteria prepare their own food by using some of the raw materials such as water, carbon dioxide and sunlight. By using these raw materials autotrophs perform photosynthesis to make their own food. These autotrophs store this food in the form of starch. This starch is directly or indirectly consumed by other heterotrophic organisms in the food chain. please mark my answer as brainiest
