The Water Resources Development Promotion Law was passed in 1961. After the law was passed the next thing was seven river basins which needs water were dedicated for the resources of water resources and its development.

In the year of 1970s and 1980s many dams were constructed to store water for future days which can provide water to the under constructed cities. And, that is how the whole Japan is served by the man made water.
