Q U E S T I O N :

Average age of amar ,akbar and anthony is x years .after y years sum of their ages will be _?

A N S W E R :

[3(x-y)] years

S O L U T I O N :

Let the age of amar be a years

age of akbar be b years

age of anthony be c years

Now, it is given that average of their ages is x years.

°• (a + b + c)/3 = x

=> a + b + c = 3x ___________(1)

After y years,

age of amar = (a + y) years

age of akbar = (b + y) years

age of Anthony = (c + y) years

° (a+y) + (b+y) + (c+y) = 3x

=> 3y + a + b + c = 3x

=> a + b + c = 3x - 3y

=> a + b + c = [3(x-y)] years [ Required answer ]

Hence, average age of amar ,akbar and anthony is x years .after y years sum of their ages will be [3(x-y)] years.
