Answer:

x+y/2=40

x+y=80______(1)

x+y+z/3

x+y=80, z=10

x+y+z

80+10/3

90/3

30

x,y,z=30 Ans

Average of x,y,z is 30

Average of x, y and z is 30

Given:

Average arithmetic mean of x and y is 40

And z = 10

To find:

The average of x, y, z

Solution:

Given that average of x and y = 40

As we know,

average = Sum of observations/ number of observations

From given data,

⇒ 40 = x+y / 2

⇒ x + y = 80

Here we need to find Average of x, y and z where z = 10

Average of x, y and z = (x+ y+ z)/ 3

As we know x+y = 80 and z = 10

⇒ (x+ y+ z)/ 3 = (80+10)/ 3 = 90/3 = 30

Therefore, average of x, y and z = 30
