Passes students average = 39

Failed students average = 15

Let the students passed = x

No. of students failed = (120 - x)

So,

39x + 15 (120 - x) = 120 * 35

39x - 15x + 1800 = 4200

24x = 2400

x = 2400/24

x = 100

No, of students passed = 100

No of students failed = 120 - 100 = 20

Hence passed students is 100 and failed students is 20.
