Given:-

  • Average of 6 numbers is 47.
  • Two of the numbers are 42 & 64.

To Find:-

  • Average of remaining 4 numbers.

Solution:-

\bold{Arithmetic\;Mean = \frac{Sum\;of\; Observations}{No\;of\; Observations}}

No. of Observations = 6

Arithmetic Mean = 47

  • Sum of Observations = No. of Observations×Arithmetic Mean.

6 \times 47 \\ 282

Sum of Observations ☞ 282.

Now, Sum of other two numbers = 42+64

→ 106

Sum of Remaining 4 Numbers = 282-106

→ 176

Average of Remaining 4 Numbers

 \frac{176}{4}  \\ 44

Required Value \longmapsto\;\Large\sf{44}
