Define x:

A = x ; B = x + 2 ; C = x + 4 ; D = x + 6 ; E = x + 8

Find the sum of the 5 numbers:

Average = 54

Sum = 54 x 5 = 270

Form equation and solve x:

x + (x + 2) + (x + 4) + (x + 6) + (x + 8) = 270

x + x + 2 + x + 4 + x + 6 + x + 8 = 270

5x + 20 = 270

5x = 250

x = 50

Find B and E:

B = x + 2 = 50 + 2 = 52

E = x + 8 = 50 + 8 = 58

Find the product of B and E:

Product of B and E = 52 x 58 = 3016

Answer: The product is 3016

Let A = x
B = x + 2
C = x + 4
D = x + 6
E = x + 8

The sum of the 5 numbers =>

Average = 54

Sum = 54 x 5 = 270

A/q

=> x + (x + 2) + (x + 4) + (x + 6) + (x + 8) = 270

=> x + x + 2 + x + 4 + x + 6 + x + 8 = 270

=> 5x + 20 = 270

=> 5x = 250

=> x = 50

So,

B = x + 2 = 50 + 2 = 52

E = x + 8 = 50 + 8 = 58

Product of B and E
= 52 x 58 = 3016

 \bold {\underline {Hence, }}
 \bold {The ~product~ is ~3016}
