Given :- average of four numbers is 26.sum 0f smallest and largest number is 55.if difference between other two numbers is one then find the square of second smaller number ?

Solution :-

→ Average of 4 numbers = 26 .

So,

→ Sum of 4 numbers = 26 * 4 = 104 .

Now ,

→ Sum of smallest and largest number = 55 .

then,

→ sum of other two numbers = 104 - 55 = 49 .

Let us assume that, other two numbers are x and y, where x > y .

So,

→ x + y = 49 -------- (1)

→ x - y = 1 ----------- (2)

adding both,

→ (x + y) + (x - y) = 49 + 1

→ 2x = 50

→ x = 25 .

Therefore,

→ y = 25 - 1 = 24 .

Hence,

→ Square of the second smaller number = (24)² = 576 (Ans.)
