Step-by-step explanation:

Let the smallest number be x

Therefore the five consecutive numbers will be

x,x+1,x+2,x+3,x+4

Average=Sum of the observationsTotal number of observations

According to the problem,

x+x+1+x+2+x+3+x+45=17

Therefore,5x+105=17

5(x+2)=85

x+2=855

x+2=17

x=15

Therefore,the smallest of the numbers will be 15

Answer:

let the number = x

therefore fiveconsecutive numbers=x+1x+2x+3x+4

according tothe sum

( x +x+1+x+2+x+3+x+45)=17

therefore= 5x+105=17

5*(x+2)=85

therefore =85
