Given:

Average temperature of the week (incorrect) = 32°C

Correct reading of Friday = 16°C

Incorrect reading taken for Friday = 30°

To find:

Correct average temperature for the week.

Solution:

Average temperature = Sum of temperatures of the week/ Number of days in a week

32= Sum of temperature/ 7

Sum of temperature (incorrect) = 32*7 = 224

To find the correct sum of temperature we need to add the correct value of Friday's temperature and remove the incorrect one.

Correct sum of temperature of the week = 224 - 30 + 16 = 210

Correct average temperature = 210/7 = 30°C

Therefore the correct average temperature = 30°C
