Aves and mammals are homeotherms which means they have constant body temperature. They cannot adjust their body temperature according to surrounding and are also called warm-blooded. This is the reason why aves and mammals experience heat and cold and adjust themselves.  

We prefer wearing woolen clothes in winters and animals have fur or hair on the skin that protects them from cold. Few birds hide in their nest whereas Siberian cranes migrate to India during winters.
