Given there are 9 suare slabs each with side of 1/2 m. The arrangement so formed is a square.   Now side of a square = 3*side of square slab.  So perimeter of the arrangement (square) = 4*(3*side of square slab)  =4×3×1/2  =12/2  =6m  Hope helps   @skb

Solution :

Side of each slab = ( 1/2 )m

a) From the first arrangement :

Number of slabs = 9

Each side we have 3 square

slabs .

Length of side of square = 3×(1/2)

= ( 3/2 ) m

Perimeter = 4 × side length

= 4 × ( 3/2 )

= 2 × 3

= 6 m

b ) From figure ( ii )

Number of tiles = 9

Perimeter = 20 × ( 1/2 )

= 10 m
