Avneet wonders if there is a way of getting an even greater perimeter. Can you find a way of doing this? ( the paving slabs must meet along complete edges I.e. they cannot be broken )

Yes there was a way to getting greater perimeter than in case of square form

Step-by-step explanation:

Missing information :

Avneet buy 9 square slab of 1/2 m side  and lay them in form of Square

=> 3 * 3

Length of Each Side of Square Square = Sum of 3  tiles Sides

Perimeter  = 4 * ( 3 * 1/2)  = 6 m

Now if we Lay these  Slabs in rectangle form 9 * 1

Then one Side length = 9/2 m

Another side length = 1/2 m

Perimeter = 2 * (9/2 + 1/2)

= 2 * 5

= 10 m

10 m > 6m
