2) Only odd-electron molecules like NO, NO2 and ClO2 are generally paramagnetic as they contain one unpaired electron each. Among the various oxides of nitrogen, only NO and NO2 are paramagnetic. N2O, N2O3 and N2O5 are diamagnetic as they contain even number of electrons.
