Ayez de la patience,mes enfants!

Mohini768: can u explain why
Anjalijoseph: This is because the imperative forms of avoir are aie, ayons and ayez depending on where you are using it. In this sentence you are telling your children to have patience so it cannot be in the nous form(which means we)since you are only talking about your children not yourself included. It also cannot be in the je form (which means I ) since you are not involved in the sentence but only your children. Therefore the correct form would be in the vous form. Hope this answer helps
Mohini768: but why not tu?
Anjalijoseph: We do not use tu because it means you and we are talking about many children in this sentence not one so thereforewe use vous
Mohini768: Ohh..
Mohini768: thank you soo much
Anjalijoseph: Anytime
