According to Kartik Tata from Quora
"I had a terrible sleep paralysis, 10 mins ago from the time I am writing this answer.

I usually get sleep paralysis as my sleep pattern is really bad and irregular, I usually sleep at 2:40- 3 or sometimes 4 and get up at 6 in the morning, that's how much less sleep I have. And of course sleep paralysis happen due to irregular sleep pattern and sleep deprivation. I had around 4–5 sleep paralysis experiences till now, but all of them were pretty (actually very) mild. Until today.

Today, I had experienced one of the worst, the single most terrible sleep paralysis in my life. I am a fan of Hollywood horror movies (which doesn't scare me). But, today’s experience scared the heck out of me. So much that I am not able to sleep and here to write about the experience (as descriptive as possible):

Until Today, Sleep paralysis experiences were small, which were till an extent where my hands and legs were immovable for a 30 seconds or so. But not today,

As far as I remember, It all started when I was awake (basically it was a dream) when I switched on the new Air conditioner unit installed in my room for the first time and then slept off, (remember all this happened in the dream itself). Then after a few mins I got up facing the air conditioner which was on my left side, I am sure my eyes were wide open (I was awake, or at least that was what I felt) and I saw it switched off, I tried reaching to the remote but my hands did not move, it was as if i couldn’t feel the weight of my hands anymore. I tried a lot to move my hand but it won’t move an inch. Suddenly I start hearing some ringtone or a song sung in an unknown language coming out of the AC. Behind me on my synthesizer someone was playing a song. But I couldn't move to see who it was. My phone started to ring. Slowly all these sounds turned into noises and merged into one frequency of sound. The frequency was so high, it was pinching the ears, it was horrible to keep listening to it.

I tried moving myself, somehow breaking myself free to move, but I couldn’t move. I was in this one single awkward position turned towards my left facing my AC. Then suddenly I felt someone behind me clinching my stomach, my chest, my neck and my thighs with full force. He held it so tight that I could even feel my organs squished inside my body. He started whispering in an unknown language. I could feel a cold breeze going through my back. I could hear my Mom and dad talking in the room adjacent to mine. Their voices were clear yet I couldn’t understand what they were saying. I shouted with all my might, “MOM HELP!”. I remember I shouted really hard, but nothing. I struggled to wake myself, but it was as if my mind was awake but my body wasn't. This lasted a few minutes which felt like a very long time. I somehow got up as if I had freed myself after a long struggle. My heart beating fast, checked my fitness band it showed 130 bpm. I was taking long breathes. And in front of me the Air conditioner was switched off (obviously it’s winters, I never really turned on the AC, it was only in my dreams that I had turned it on). My clothes were soaked with sweat. The weight of my blanket felt less now. My keyboard was packed in the cover and was in the corner where it should be. The house was quiet. It was finally over. But since then I am not able to sleep just because negative thoughts came into my mind. I started feeling as if there was this same man behind me who will again clinch my body and will not leave me.

I don’t know about the way I described it, but all in all I just want to say it was the most petrifying experience till now."
