Explanation:

VDH stands for virtual hard disk. Before uploading a virtual machine to Azure you need to convert it to VHD.

Azure accepts both generation 1 and 2 virtual machines but in a limited size e.g. 2 Terabytes

In order to used VHDX, you need to convert it to VHD first and then upload to Azure. There are several ways which can help you convert VHDX to VHD which is beyond the scope of this question
