Given: 3 phase voltage

           V = 220 V

           Impedance  = (15 + j20)ohm

To find: The phasor current in each line I(ph)

Solution:

In a star-connected three-phase system,

V(l) = √3 x V(ph)

and I(l) = I(ph)

I(ph) = V(l) / √3Z

In a delta connected three phase system

V(l)= V(ph)

I(l) = √3 x l(ph)

I(ph) = V₁ /Z

where,

V(l) is line voltage

V(ph) is phase voltage

I(l) is line current

I(ph) is the phase current

Since

V = 220 V

Z = (15 + j20) = 25 ohm

I(ph) = V / Z

       = 220V/ 25 ohm

       = 8.8 A

The phaser current in each line is 8.8 A
