Answer:

12 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Then it's length = x+4 cm

Perimeter of the rectangle= 2(l+b)

= 2(x+4+x) = 2(2x+4) = 4x + 8 cm

But perimeter of the rectangle = 40 cm

So. 4x + 8 = 40 => 4x = 40 - 8 => 4x = 32

=> x = 32/4 => x = 8

So breadth = 8 cm

Length of the rectangle = x+4 = 8+4=12 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

All breadth values less than 5cm gives perimeter values less than 28cm.

Ex.

Let l = 8cm b= 4cm

Perimeter = 2(l+b) = 2(4+8) = 2(12) = 24cm

Same goes to l = 7cm b=3cm, l = 6cm b= 2cm and l = 5cm b=1cm.

Hope it helps
