Answer:

42 m/s

Explanation:

Using 1st equation of motion :

v = u + at

here u = 12 m/s, a = 3 m/s^2, t = 10 sec

than, velocity after 10 seconds is,

v = 12 + 3*10

v = 42 m/s

Question

A scooter is travelling at 12 m/s. If it is accelerating at 3 m/s². What is it's velocity after 10 seconds?

Solution-

Given that, a scooter is travelling at 12 m/s. If it's accelerating is 3 m/s².

We have to find the final velocity of the scooter after 10 sec.

From above data we have; initial velocity of scooter (u) is 12 m/s, acceleration is (a) is 3 m/s² and time (t) is 10 sec.

First equation of motion:

v = u + at

Second equation of motion:

s = ut + 1/2 at²

Third equation of motion:

v² - u² = 2as

As we have value of v, u and a. So, using the First Equation Of Motion i.e. v = u + at

Substitute the known values in the above formula,

→ v = 12 + 3(10)

→ v = 12 + 30

→ v = 42

Therefore, the velocity of the scooter after 10 seconds is 42 m/s.
