Given :   wholesaler purchases some furniture for Rs 1,60,000. He sold it to a retailer for Rs 1,90,000. The retailer sold it to a customer for Rs 2,30,000.

f all the transactions are within the state and the rate of GST is 18%,

To Find :  GST paid by wholesaler

Tax paid by retailer to the state government

(iii) Price paid by customer

Solution:

wholesaler purchases some furniture for Rs 1,60,000.

GST = 18 % => CGST = SGST = 18/2 = 9 %  with in same state

CGST = SGST = (9/100)160000  = Rs 14400

Wholesaler sold it to a retailer for Rs 1,90,000

CGST = SGST = (9/100)190000  = Rs 17100

GST paid by wholesaler = CGST + SGST = 2 * ( 17100  - 14400 ) = 5400  Rs

retailer sold it to a customer for Rs 2,30,000.

CGST = SGST = (9/100)230000  = Rs 20700

Tax paid by retailer to the state government = 20700  - 17100   = Rs 3600

Price paid by customer = 230000 + 20700  + 20700

= 271400  Rs
