1. Cuscuta is a parasitic plant. It has no chlorophyll and cannot make its own food by photosynthesis. Instead, it grows on other plants, using their nutrients for its growth and weakening the host plant.

2. An insectivore is a carnivorous plant or animal that eats insects. An alternative term is entomophage, which also refers to the human practice of eating insects.

An alternative term is entomophage, which also refers to the human practice of eating insects. The first vertebrate insectivores were amphibians. When they evolved 400 million years ago, the first amphibians were piscivores, with numerous sharp conical teeth, much like a modern crocodile. The same tooth arrangement is however also suited for eating animals with exoskeletons, thus the ability to eat insects is an extension of piscivory.

3. Pitcher plant has partial heterotrophic mode of nutrition. It performs photosynthesis. To meet its nitrogenous requirement it feeds on insects since pitcher plant grows in nitrogen deficient soil. In a pitcher plant, the leaf is modified to form a pitcher like structure.

Pitcher plants are the carnivorous plants having modified leaves called as pitfall traps - a prey-trapping mechanism characterized by a deep cavity filled with digestive liquid. These plants provide gifts like nectar and colour which attract insect and they drown them.

Hope you get it...

2. A plant which fulfills it's nitrogenous needs by eating insects is called an insectivorous plant.

3.Pitcher plant has partial heterotrophic mode of nutrition, it performs photosynthesis, to meet its nitrogenous requirement it feeds on insects since pitcher plant grows in nitrogen deficient soil, in this way the insect gets trapped in the pitcher.
