Given AB || DE and AE is a transversal,

So, ANGLE BAE = ANGLE AED

ANGLE AED = 35°

Now, in triangle CDE, we have,

Angle D + Angle E = Angle ACD ( Using exterior angle property of a triangle )

53° + 35° = 88°
