Answer:

Ques1> Why did Heidi not want to bring her things inside the hut?

Ans>Heidi didn’t wanted to bring her things inside the hut because she wanted

to go about like the light footed goats.

Ques 2> What items were kept in the cupboard?

Ans> In one shelf of the cupboard were a few shirts, socks and towels; on

another a few on another a few plates, cups and glasses; and on the top shelf

were a round loaf of bread, meat and cheese. In this cupboard the grandfather

kept everything that he needed.

Ques 3> How did Heidi make her bed?

Ans> Heidi decided to make her bed in the hayloft. As she said to the

grandfather that every bed must have a sheet, he pulled out a long, coarse

cloth from under the shirts. From being the hard floor being felt, he made a

couch twice as thick. They put the heavy sheet on, tucking the ends in well. For

the cover they took a large, heavy linen bag and the bed was ready.

Ques 4> What did grandfather prepare for dinner?

Ans> For dinner the grandfather boiled a kettle and toasted cheese to the

table. He put the slice of golden cheese on top of the bread. They had milk also

to drink.

Ques 5> Why did Heidi need a new place to sit? How did grandfather solve the

problem?

Ans> The seat was too low and Heidi was also so little to reach the table from

his chair. When the grandfather filled the little bowl with milk, putting on his

chair, he pushed it as near to the stool as was possible, and in that way Heidi

had a table before her. In this way the problem was solved.
