(a) Pancreas secretes hormone insulin. It helps in regulating the blood sugar level.

(b) Pituitary secretes growth hormone. It regulates growth and development of the body.

(c) Thyroid secretes thyroxine hormone. It regulates carbohydrates, protein and fat metabolism in the body so as to provide the best balance for growth.

(iii)Too little production of thyroxine by the thyroid gland is known as hypothyroidism. It may be caused by autoimmune diseases, poor iodine intake or caused by the use of certain drugs. Sometimes, the cause is unknown.
