I witnessed an interesting event one afternoon as I was idly watching the street across our balcony on the first floor. A Ford convertible with a tarpaulin hood pulled up in front of Hafiz Mian's shop. Cars were not  a very common sight in those days. Barely a couple of cars would appear in our Zindabahar lane during the course of the day. I was curious about the passenger under the hood of the car. The sight of the visitor brought Hafiz Mian to his feet. ​
