in solids inter particle space is very less
in liquids it is more than in solids
in gases it is very more as compared to solid and liquids
( one other form is bos einstine condenstate in which particles are most closer even than in solids.
and in plasma state the particles are most loosely packed even more than in gases)

actually bos einstine condenstate and plasma state are not observed on earth.

1)solids
Are tightly held close to each other so there is almost no inter particle space between the parlicles of solid.
2) liquids
Are loosely held to each other; they are less tightly held to each other compared to solids.so inter particle space is minimum.
3)gases
These are freely moving particles therefore creating maximum inter particle space between the molecules of gas
